Irish Kilt

Traditional Kilt

Wrap yourself in Irish tradition with Our Irish Kilts

Irish kilts date back to the ancient Celtic tribes who lived in Ireland. These tribes wore a long, flowing garment known as a "brat," which resembled a modern-day kilt. The brat was made of wool and hanging over one shoulder. They considered it as a symbol of national pride. The brat gradually evolved into the current Irish kilt. It is worn in plain colours - either the saffron or green and grey versions.

Today, there are modern surname tartans such as Murphy, Kelly, and O'Neil, but many Irish people wear the tartan from the county where their ancestors came from. We do offer official Irish County tartans in wool fabric.

At kilt-outfit, we have an extensive range of Irish kilts for sale developed using tartan in the colour of the various shields and emblems of the Irish counties. Order your Iris kilt with our made to measure facility. You will love your kilt.
